Last year I had the opportunity to attend the HTML5 Developers Conference in San Francisco. I loved it so much that I decided to go back this year again - and not only as at attendee but as a workshopper.
I am happy to announce that I will be delivering two workshops at the conference:
22nd October 2014 - AngularJS, Firebase and SPAs
As part of this workshop I will be discussing the basics of creating Single Page Applications using AngularJS (think ng-view, routes and templates). Most tutorials work with offline, static JSON files as their data source - I thought I'd spice things up a bit and discuss Firebase as the backend. We will learn how to do CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) operations on key-value data (JSON-like) with Firebase.
24th October 2014 - Code Smarter, Get MEAN
There's a great hype around the MEAN stack (the abbreviation traditionally stands for MongoDB, ExpressJS, AngularJS, Node.js) and it's a great stack to help you with rapid application scaffolding. There's a lot what this stack can do and as part of this workshop we will put together a fullu functioning site that utilises a NoSQL document storage as the database, a node.js/express based REST api and an AngularJS frontend to consume the webservice.
If you're interested in any of these workshops, I hope to see you in San Francisco. If you can't make it to the workshop, you can still come and say hi at the conference.
